Department description

Ops or Operations is the central command during the Convention. They know where things are and where the people who can get things done are. Lost and found. Central dispatch.

Staff

Staff is the help desk of the Convention. Lost and found. Radio dispatch. Central supply.

Department head

The department head works closely with Logistics knowing where office supplies, batteries, power strips and other essential con items that some other department head forgot to pack is. The department head will train Volunteers where items are and who may or may not have them. The department will work closely with Safety/Security and be able to find policies and procedures when needed. They will be the central dispatch and radio appropriate departments and locate Convention Heads as needed. The department may also work with Hotel for permissions to enter locked rooms after hours. The Safety team may be out patrolling but the Ops desk is always staffed and always ready. The department head will need to train staff about basic de escalation until Safety/Security can take over.
